It will keep it moist and may even lubricate it and help it return...It was the advice I was given when my tegu prolapsed but luckily enough his returned quite shortly afterwards.

IVE DUN THAT STILL HASN'T RETURNED I HAVE BAVED HIM IN IN SUGAR WATER WHICH WAS RECOMMENDED AS WELL

Sugar water?.Not heard of that..wouldn't fancy grains of sugar on my bits.....have you left it alone in the tub for a while..coat some kitchen towel in the oil (not drenched) and leave it in there a while.

As I said maybe better soaking the kitchen towel in the oil that way the tortoise won't get drenched..but will still keep exposed area lubricated but if no better get it to a vet as soon as you can.

i don't have any bearded dragon hatching's i have eggs that have been in the incubator for 21 days and 18 days and already have enclosures
but i think my dads mate will probable take it considering he has thousands of pounds worth of tortoise and would love to take my spur thigh-ed
