phone the person who has placed the ad .
try to get a feel of trust of him , ask loads of questions . if they are serious they wont mind .
ask to visit where they are (take your parents) , make sure you are happy with what you are buying and the price etc .
there are some who reckon buying privately is better than from a shop because of the personal care that will have went into the animal .
i would and have , just make sure everything seems ok with the animal and they look like they have looked after it ok .
there may be other tips form other posters too . _________________ Eyeless frogs welcome...

If you make a home visit look also at the cage where the snake is and any others that are there to see how they are kept ie clean with correct heating, lighting or a sh#t tip that a cockroach wouldnt live in _________________ People laugh at me because I am different

I'm taking the plunge this weekend! haven't spoken as such but plenty of emails, picture of the animal (and it's parents), it helped me when i found out he will be on the IHS stand at the meeting in doncaster, so assume he is a save bet _________________ best of luck in the new season |

I've probably bought more privately than at shops etc.
