just orderd a 3x2x2 viv but what size heat mat should i buy

am i right in thinking that i need 1 that covers half the floor of the viv also will the heat go through chipboard ok ?any help is appreciated Cool

what snake is it for? and I would get a heatmat that covered maybe a third not half of it..yes your right the heat probably wont penetrate chipboard so would need to be on a stat on the inside of the viv.I would either put a bulb on a dimmer or a ceramic on a pulse stat as your heat source..as the heat mat wont radiate heat so will not heat the air by much if any.

hi mate its for a royal and i will be using a habistat with the heatmat Wink but will the mat be no good then ?

will only heat the area where its placed it wont raise the ambient air temps..If the royal is a baby I would use a contico tub rather than a viv of that size as it would imo stress the hell out of a baby royal..they like to feel confined
