I was watching a David Attenborough DVD last night (deserts-planet earth) and got quite a nice show of colours and jumping from a huge group f flat lizards in Africa-truly beautiful!!! Do people keep these in captivity, and if not, has anyone seen them in the wild? _________________ Interested in amphibians? They are native to South Africa, which generally means they cannot be exported from the country, I am not sure, but I believe only F1 animals are allowed to leave the country.
Although, about a week ago, an Ad came up on Kingsnake.com US classifieds with a species in that genus, not the red, yellow, and blue ones, but another brightly colored species. I am sure there are some in the hobby, i do not know if they come from other countries as well.
Planet Earth just finished airing in the US, and I just bought a copy! what an incredible series! _________________ Peter Alexander

I don't know about regulations on exporting from SA but Platysaurus flat lizards are commonly imported and available. They may come from other southern African countries I guess. I'm not sure which species you're talking about, but P. imperator is stripey and multicoloured, and I've seen this a few times...
Cheers,
Mark. |
