Hi all i can advise you untill you get to the vet is keep it clean maybe bathe with Betadine, and keep him/her on newspaper so nothing gets into the wound, i would pop him to the vet though just to be on the safe side Very Happy

Best to take it to the vet to be on the safe side but young iggies do drop their tails. So as it's a natural thing for them to do then as long as you keep it clean it should heal fine.
If he's young enough then it will grow back though not as good as new. If he's older then he may well be without it for the rest of his life, not normally anything to worry about though.

Good luck! Our iggy had a broken tail when we adopted her, but recently she got startled and whipped her tail against the side of her viv. The tip started to bleed a fair bit. We dabbed it with dilute Betadine and it was fine!

Happened to my ig a number of years ago. Looked very meaty for a few days but healed up just fine. He has a short tail now but still healthy as ever at 14 years old.
