I wasn't sure where to put this so i have placed it here and linked from the snakes and the lizards section.
The following link is brief but there is to be a full article released later this week. If for one can't wait for it and i imagine Scott will find it interesting too.

It should be published online in Nature magazine, I was forwarded the pre-pub article (I think?) this morning. Certainly makes for interesting reading - claiming that Eastern beardeds have developed venom glands. Very interesting work though |

yep, all very interesting Dan, great link.
I had a friend bitten by a Varanus macraei monitor (just 3 or 4 weeks ago), he had to make a trip to the hospital within 4 hours due to pain and swelling, again everyone thought it was due to infection but maybe not after all _________________
