yes well, i was concerned, that my snake was getting bored or nervous in his current tank cos it was too small. He gets into bad moods and bites alot, only on some days though lol.

he also takes a lot of pursudaing to eat too, so i figured if he was with another snake. might spark a bit of competition and improve his eating.

I wouldnt put his bad feeding habits down to boredom..Maybe it would be a good idea to get the one you have feeding regularly before you contemplate another. Cool

as Stu says, concentrate on that one first, Grey rats are very hardy and easy snakes, so if your one is not feeding great check your viv temps and make sure the mouse is defrosted thoroughly and maybe even a little warm(place on a warm viv top before feeding).

He is in an all glass tank, with calci sand substrate, a large low level rock, which sits over the heatmat.he has three hides, one of which is on a different level, a small water bowl that is cleaned out every day. he also has a tall ornament to climb on aswell as a branch, with a raised mesh level atached to it.
He has one hide in the cold area, and one hide in the hot area, his water bowl is also in the cold area to keep it cool and prevent high humidity.

i can't read the thermometor today is a bit fogged up after i cleaned it the other day. i use boiling water and antibacterial spay to make sure his tank is fully disinfected. so the thermometer suffers with condensation.

So the snake only has a heat mat as a form of heating?..is this on a pulse stat?..if so you should know what the temps are..also wouldnt recommend a heat mat under glass tank unregulated as it crack the glass..As Scott said earlier with the climate getting cooler towards winter and the set up you describe i very much doubt that the ambient air temps are getting hot enough..From what you have said above i would put his finicky eating down to temps..
