Saw it,
Great images of the snakes! Smile
He's a good presenter, not too cocky, know it all, jump on it for fun style.

He also likes carnivorous plants Wink

If you like them that much Keiron then you should get one. They are not the delicate hard to care for creatures that they are made out to be. So they like a bit of humidity, big deal! Go for it mate, I think you`d enjoy them and do well with a GTP! Wink

Hi Keiron, no I don`t have a huge amount of experience with them. I kept a trio over 10 years ago now, and got back into them a few months back. The one I have at present eats like a pig and is a pleasure to keep. His lady arrives in a months time.

Being equatorial, mine suits a 12 hr day 12 hr night cycle 12 months of the year which is easy enough to replicate. A fibreglass viv helps keep the humidity up as does a spray in the morning and that`s about it basically. Simplicity really! Not too much handling, (I don`t handle any of my snakes unless I have to) and definately not after dark when they are most active. A power plate as the heat source on the ceiling of the viv connected to a stat, at the mid 80`s and thats the key points covered really. I say go for it if you like the look of them. If you really like a particular herp, then that`s half the battle. A captive bred GTP is a very different kettle of fish to care for then a parasite ridden wild caught import that everyone is thinking of when they think of GTP`s as being "Awkward customers", same as all herps really.

Best book available is ; The MORE Complete Chondro, by Greg Maxwell, ISBN 978-0-9767334-5-5. Hard to find but worth the hunt. My copy cost me £30 at a show. GTP husbandry is covered in detail. Have a look at http://www.chondroweb.com also. Wink

Back on topic, yes what a good presenter Nick is. A refreshing change from the macho man imbeciles that we see all to often faking captures in the wild and generally stressing and annoying the animals, as well as me!

However,
I prefer Austin Stevens!
Razz Laughing

Seriously:
It annoys me when every reptile documentary is in search of the biggest, most dangerous, most agressive, most fearsome etc.
People never look to see all the other species that are just as interesting.

For example, it was the first time they saw wild caudal luring.
Smile
