This is the follow up..
I emailed another letter to tpsuk which i did not recieve a reply to so this morning i instigated a paypal complaint. I heard back within minutes from them and this is what was said.....
My initial letter to paypals resolution service....
Purchased 100 silkworms and paid same day. 1 week later no item. seller said it had been sent but would send another lot as some others posted on same day had also gone missing. Once the silkworms had arrived i counted them and there was 67, 6 of which were dead. The next day 11/12 more were dead. silkworms should last at least 1/2 weeks... I wrote to the seller who did not reply to my email. I sent again a copy of the email and as of yet still have not had a reply.
1st reply from tpsuk through paypal
Additional Silkworms were posted out yesterday!!! We cannot be held responsible for the quantity or quality of silkworms as these are being shipped from a different distribution centre by a different company, we just take the addresses and send the distributor the details. You may have noticed we have removed the silkworms from our website as they have been more trouble than they are worth. Regards Scott TPSUK
My reply to them through paypal
I would have been so very gratefull had you replied to my emails to tell me this.I have had to write to you 5x over this little order and i still haven't recieved what i have paid for... It is your responsibility when selling products to be aware they are of a reasonable quality and that the buyer gets what they paid for. No i did not notice they were gone from your site, because i have not had the heart to look at your products whilst dealing with this problem.. I purchased the items from you and need to deal with you, it is your responsibility to sort out any problems with the stockists you purchase them from.
thought i would post this as i find this amazing that they can reply so quickly to paypal, once i instigated a claim. wish i had recieved an email to apologise or something.. i would have probally not bothered following this up.. A sorry carries a lot of weight and can mean alot.
However, they have said they sent more worms so i hope this will be the end of the matter...
will let you know what the other worms are like... |

Good for you Sharon!
It's no good them saying the people they get them from can't get it right. if they are selling them, as you rightly state, it is their responsibility to put mistakes right not blame another party, after all they seem happy to make their profit but not take self responsibility.
That really pees me off when people don't take responsibility for their own actions.
After reading their response I personally would never buy anything from them! Thats my view anyway for what it's worth.
Very naive in terms of good business relationships they seem.
Perhaps they could post up on here? _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

i have just been and purchased some more silkworms "100" plus some of there food.. i purchased these from seritech.. i paid by paypal and when i got the receipt guess whose name was on it. yes gary keane.. The same supplier which tpsuk used and who have stopped trading in silkworms because of the trouble they have had with them.
If i had know they were the same people i would not have even gone there.. I can just hope that the ones i got was a 1 off and future orders will run smoothly... fingers, legs and everything else crossed. |

I know what you mean Rick. I know of someone who bought an albino boa from a shop up north, this animal died soon after. The shop owner then directed the customer straight to the supplier with the mentality "it's his problem, not mine" - Some folks just never cease to amaze me _________________ TFA

I agree Dan that sort of attitude is no good for anyone. Certainly not the retailer either as it's a customer lost who will talk to other potential customers! Nonsensical! _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

Well i am very pleased to say that yesterday i recieved a replacement lot of silkworms which all arrived in good condition and are healthy. They look very different from the first lot i got, i really think they was a poor batch or something..
They are busy mucnching away on the chow i brought them. I also recieved the order i purchased direct from seritech and they are all happy living and munching together.
I have closed the paypal claim and wish i could have sorted it out without..
At least it is all done and dusted.. Thanks for your reasurrance guys |
