it depends on breed! chile rose or curly hair tarantula are probably 2 of the most docile if you wish to hanlde them and are good starter spiders Very Happy , personally i don't feel this is a creature that wants handaling, mine is a salmon pink which is definately not a starter spider and is not advisable for handling (comes under aggressive catagory) but sal (thats her name ) is not to bad i can change water daily etc without to much probs, but then like all of us she has her bad days where she will run (and she can move) at anything that moves in tank including me and although the bite would not harm me it would bl**dy hurt Crying or Very sad , so far we have had no probs but then as i say i do not intemedate her by trying to hold her...she is however a fantastic breed if you like to watch them shes always on show not using hideaway very often unlike alot of tarantulas who tend to fling up a web then u dont see them for ages..as i mentioned before even her molt was done out in the open (shes just a showoff) Laughing
