I've been watching my Ackie alot recently and noticed that when eating Hoppers he seems to play with them.

He'll grab one "smack" it around as if he's going to eat it, then stops and lets go. He'll then nudge it, if it doesn't move he eats it.... but if it does he chases after it, grabbing and throwing it around like a cat with a mouse.

Now here's the strange bit! When he's killed it (can take 15-20 min and seems to really enjoy doing this) He doesn't bother with it anymore and goes after another! He wont eat the ones that put up a fight, he instead takes them to his "mesonay" and dumps them there!

It this normal?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Yair I see it all the time with my monitors, it takes um a while to beat up what they are eating they seem to enjoy this bit, but as soon as the food source stops wriggling they lose interest and find something else to beat up. although they usually eat it later on when they find out its food again.
but hay this is the fun of keeping monitors they no why they do it, we don't hahahahah.

cheers Chris
