last week i was able to buy a large group off cynops pyroghaster, but i think there are 2 different subspecies, can anyone tell me anything more,
we have already more species of cynops (and also pyroghaster)but none off them have bellies like these.

Excellant photos! What an array of variation. For newt enthusiast`s who may be able to help you out I would try http://www.caudata.org
Let us know what you find out on this forum though if you do, I would be very interested to know. I kept this species as a shoolboy. I think they are great. _________________ YSBRYDOLI POBL, GWELLA LLEOEDD

They look like the sasayame form.
These little fellas are getting harder and harder to find here now, they used to come in via aquatics trade in huge numbers but in recent years their place in the trade has been taken over by Cynops orientalis. _________________ Andrew Tillson-Willis
