Looking for some suggestions for a good tripod, a nice versatile one and as light as possible, since I'll be carrying it around Not a mini tripod, but I do want to be able to get close to the ground for macro shots.
there are just too many to choose from _________________ Please visit Ron's Reptiles to see my collection

I use a manfrotto 055 prob..not that light but very versatile with removable center column that lets you get very low to the ground.. _________________

out of all the 'good' tripods I have seen, not many seem to be lightweight? We have a manfrotto at work for a camera that takes 18,000 shots a second and it weighs a ton ! _________________ My website isn't quite there yet, as I got bored half way through writing it.

Unfortunately you need some weight to get a steady tripod. I see the 055 weighs about 2.4 kg. I must say I was thinking of Manfrotto. I'll go to a shop to see how I like it. Thanks! _________________ Please visit Ron's Reptiles to see my collection

Yeah 18,000 shots a second..... its a beast that can look at how particles form from a melt. A bit like an atomizer on a deodorant can, but cooler _________________ My website isn't quite there yet, as I got bored half way through writing it.
