They need a good ten minutes gentle spraying, this will stimulate the drinking response, with warm water.

Mine put themselves, sometimes in the line of the misting spray and at other times avoid it like the plague. So my view is don't directly spray the cham cause of stress if it wants to get wet it will. Some people put their cham in the shower weekly, not tried that yet.

I use a Hozelock killer spray with extension attachment it's tops.

They like to see droplets of water on the move, they will then drink the drops when thirsty off leaves, off the viv etc. Don't bother putting a bowl of water in they will ignore it.

I Spray twice a day.

I also add reptisafe water conditioner. On top of the misting / spraying, I use a little dripper to provide a controlled amount of water dripping into the viv, over the plants to form droplets and then into the plant pot. I place the dripper tube right inside the viv via the mesh top, often they will drink straight from the tube.

I have not heard they absorb water through their skin, but there is a theory that in part, the shape of their casque allows droplets of mist to run into their mouths after collecting on the casque. Apparently in Yemen they have early morning mists etc in the habitat where the yems live.

Happy spraying.
