Hi

I'm thinking about setting up a nice display viv for some dart frogs. Ive seen a few posts on here where people have used that DIY expanding foam to created a sloping terrain inside the viv, molding it around plant pots, water dish etc etc. My question is this; how are people treating this foam once its set (from a safety as well as an aesthetic point of view). Are you painting it (green) or just hoping that the foliage with cover it up? Would moss grow over it like a carpet?

cheers

Stuart

As for safety Once cured the foam is harmless and non porus (sp?).

I wouldnt paint it as this wont hold up to high humidity and there's always the risk (with amphibians) of something leahing out of the paint at a later stage unless you cover the paint with some kind of epoxy resin.

Here's a run down of what I use and have used for years with dart frog vivs http://www.captivebred.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6595

any questions just ask Cool

yup I leave it for about a week after foaming to cure fully and to allow for a bit of shrinkage.
