One question: did you separate the male and female when you noticed that the female was carrying eggs or did you left them together? And if you did left them together, how was the behavior of the male to the female? |

I left them together, with hindsight, I would suggest separating the female from the male when she is gravid. With my younger pair the male is dominant, with the older pair the female was the dominant one.
Not to sure, but I think raising a pair of 1.1 together from a young age is the best way to go for establishing a breeding pair, showing the male another male if you have one every now and then or even use a mirror now and then so as to stimulate him, by the presence of another male. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

Ok, thanks for the answer. I'm trying to find out more about their breeding behavior, but I hear so many different story's...
I'm raising my pair (female 9months, male 6months old) together, but I'm thinking ahead on what to do when the female will be gravid. I still have at least 9 months or so before she will, but I'm hoping to be ready when she is and do the best thing for her.
These are my first iguana's, so I have still a lot to learn... But I like that. |
