You should have gone for the two day film development at Boots, those one hour ones look a bit faded. Every little helps _________________ Regards James Stroud |

Hi Stuart,
I do a lot of bird ringing up here and often greylags end up with shiny bits of metal as a souvenir when i have the time , can you get close enough to read the ring numbers on them with your camera? Most flocks have a ringed bird or two... I can show you where to log them if you want and you normally get an exact idea of where the bird was rung and how old it is etc.
Its quite cool to find out where the birds come from, EG we have a group at one of the sites I work in that come from Gloucester each year.
Also, we recently had a blackbird re-trapped in Austria
a gull ring was found in fox turd in Norway and a re-trapped chaffinch after ten years.

Hi Colin
this is the only pair at the reservoirs I visit and cant see any rings on them..but if they were rung yes I could get close enough to read the numbers.. |
