I knew you couldnt use them with bulbs, due to the 'pulse'-
Am I right in saying though, that the heat is better maintained with the dimmer, which is a constant adjustment, rather than the pulse, which is off, on, off on? I was just trying to give a comparison with home lighting. |

Have just been looking at the Habistat website and it says....
Dimming Thermostat - Lights only (ideally for basking spot lamp)
Pulse Thermostat - Ceramic heaters only (ideally for creating background heat and raising the temp in the hot end of the Viv)
Hope this helps to clear things up.
Im now planning on the following upgrades:
Pulse Thermostat on a 100w ceramic heater - Either Habistat or Microclimate
Dimming Thermostat on a 60w spot bulb - Either Habistat or Microclimate
Does anyone have any experiance of the Microclimate thermostats at all, or should it be Habistat all the way? _________________ 2x Rankins Dragons & 1x Yemen Chameleon

I've heard that Microclimate aren't as good, and should be used as back-up thermostats.
So I'd go with Habistat.
And Anne, pulse thermostats ARE NOT on, off, on etc. |
