I have read on a care sheet or two about feeding eggs to Blue Tongue Skinks.
I was just wondering if any preparation needs to be done to the eggs (boiling, breaking etc) or do can you just leave an egg there for the skink to deal with?. Also, I may have access to Quails eggs, and I was wondering if they can be used also?.

Hi HS, Iv got a pink tongued skink, which are a lot smaller than your blue tongue, and I also feed some boiled egg to him, every so often, I just break it up, into pieces, leaving the shell on, and Sidney does the rest! The shell helps with calcium, the egg for trace protein and energy foods!
Hope BTS are similar to PTS, in their eating habits!
If you feed yours snails, do you freeze them first?
Cheers! Very Happy

Hi,

You can feed eggs any way you like. For me, raw eggs make too much mess. I usually soft boil them, remove most of the shells and mash up with a fork.

I always freeze snails before feeding to blueys.

Cheers,
Mark.
