Well thank you, Rick!!! Thanks to him, I have now gotten into amphibians. He and I have talked frequently about various herps, and he convinced me to try some sals. I never would have thought he was ohh, so right.

Here are Simba and Nala....my two latest additions. They were shipped in from within the states and boy do they chow down. I thought my dragons were PacMans....not even close. ha ha They guys are just plain fascinating, thanks so much Rick! I am addicted ...

First picture is the male, last two are the female. The breeder shipped me out his sole remaining breeding pair, so I was blessed to find them this time of year. Come July, I have a pair of Barred Tigers on reserve as well.

Hope you like the pics,
Shanna

Thanks! They actually were taken out of hibernation a few days before they were shipped out to me, and the breeder said they need to gain quite a bit of weight back that they had on before hibernation. I currently have them on a roach, silkworm, crawler and cricket diet. :) They get an occasional wax worm once or twice a week, too.

They love their food. I will have to soon start to be careful of them becoming obese. ;) They are awesome to feed. I have tongs and feeding them crawlers is the best!

Thanks again,
Shanna

Glad your enjoying these-they were my first amphibian too! (well, barred tigers were)
Such character-do they stand up and beg for food yet?

Thanks!

Sam - Yes, well, sort of. They have settled in nicely and already have learned when I come around, food isn't too far behind. So, they have already started to feel safe and secure enough to play tug-o-war with me when I feed crawlers, and they act like kittens with yarn once they get them! ha ha Boy, talk about funny .... seeing them act like PacMan and try to catch zippy Lobster Roaches! LOL! Now that's funny!

WARNING: ALL CBR Forum Members: Do not listen to Rick! He hypnotizes you and you come to owning more herps! ha ha ha

I have to admit, it was a great investment. I don't regret listening to Rick at all, in fact, I am getting at least two more (Barred though this time) in July!

;)

These arrived this morning-two Ambystoma tigrinium juves. Both about 5 inches long, good weight and have FEROCIOUS appetites (of course they have, they are tiger salamanders!) Very pleased with these, but they wont be staying long...thye will be taking a ride up north in a few days to hopefully join my fathers one in about a month or so.
