Saw a Leopard Lizard today and was interested in them, because they looked quite nice, and behaved interestingly, searches only seem to turn up leopard geckos, can anyone help with requirements for them, lighting, housing, feeding etc? _________________ 1 Bearded Dragon

Good lord, and he can be kept in a 30 gallon tank? Bit cramped I'd imagine? _________________ 1 Bearded Dragon

25 inches? I think the average is about 8 inches. Have never seen one that grows into that length even with the "Giant leopard gecko".
Check this out http://www.thegeckospot.net/careindex.html
you should be able to fins information on there. You need to get a tank in length more than in height as leopard geckos rarely climb high. 30 gallon tank can accommodate a couple of them I should imagine.
You need to produce 1 moist hide, 1 cool hide and part (1/3 of the tank) with heat mat. UV light is not needed. Leopard geckos are hardy pets, and it's pretty easy to keep. You can feed them with crickets, locusts, meal worms etc with occasional wax worms. The live food has to be gut loaded and dusted. Calcium (in powder form) dish is also needed.
Think that's about it. |
