Well I made it back home in one piece, think it's going to take my liver a few days to get over it though Embarassed

I'm afraid I took the lazy option of flying over there, in fact I didn't have to even drive to the airport as my friend picked me up on the way. Unfortunately we were already running late when we missed the slip road on the M1 (for Luton airport) Embarassed

We exited at the next junction but couldn't get back on the motorway due to that direction of travel was basically stationary. We drove into the town and stopped to ask directions to the airport, but alas the first two people we met couldn't actually speak any English Shocked Laughing We drove a little further and luckily for us we found a police car and forensic detective at the scene of a crime and they happily gave us directions to the airport (I think they just wanted us away quickly before we disturbed their crime scene any more Embarassed ).

We got to the airport car park at 7.30am with our flight leaving at 7.50am, that gave us just 20 minutes to park and get thru security etc needless to say we ran from the car all the way to each check point...dropping keys and phones along route just to slow ourselves down a bit more. At this point we were pretty convinced we had missed our flight due to the lastest boarding time was the same time as we parked the car Shocked Laughing .

We finally got to the last check point only to have Mr Jobsworth at the security point. We were pleased to see he made the world a safer place by confiscating my deodrants & aftershave...I commented that if he liked my gear that much to just take the lot (on relection that probably made him slow down even more Evil or Very Mad ). He finally let us go (without questioning the heatmats and cables in my bag Shocked ) and we carried on running to the departure gate....amazingly we got there and joined the back of the que with the last few people walking through ready to board...perhaps two minutes to spare Cool

We arrived in Germany an hour or so later and headed out for some food, then back to the hotel for a rest, ready for all the other Brits to arrive from about 5pm onwards. That night was great, all the old time herpers arriving many of which I only get the chance to see at each of the shows, so it was no suprise that we carried on drinking at the bar until 3.30am...only to have to get up at 7.00am for the show Sad It's always nice to see the 'Brit pack' as the last ones to leave the bar, pretty much always the Americans go to bed first, then the other Europeans....then an hour or so later the Brits Laughing , although suprisingly this year Mike Willbanks was able to fly the drinking flag for the yanks and stayed up nearly to the end! (as did a handfull of Swedish guys).

That morning we all got up ready for the show, just enough time for a shower and breakfast then we headed out to the show. I was fortunate to be able to have some table space with Geoff Clarke so many thanks for that Geoff. Also had Ron Winkler and his wife next to me, good to meet you again Ron and those syrup waffles were fantastic!!! Laughing

About an hour or so before the show opened I went outside, I couldn't believe how big the que was already, must of been 200 metres long and 5-6 people wide Shocked

The show finally opened and the mad rush began...didn't get hardly anytime to look round and I can completely understand how all the traders must feel with a constant stream of people asking questions. It's not easy standing on your feet for 8 hours after a heavy nights drinking.

I managed to leave my stand a couple of times for a quick look round but it was manic everywhere, struggled to find anything on my list for people. When I got back I was told that a fellow trader had a Bumblebee Ball python & a pied stolen off their table Shocked (about 9000 euros worth), it was at that point I was glad that my display was purpose built and locked shut, allowing me to walk off and leave it with my Bumblebees and pewters etc safely locked away Cool

The show overall was probably quieter with regards to people spending, many traders said that it wasn't there best show sales wise perhaps this one is a bit too close to Christmas?

The show finally ended and we packed up and went back to the hotel. A quick shower and changed and then back to the bar and out for a nice meal, then back to the bar. The Saturday night was even better than the Friday, the bar had filled up from earlier with Kevin from NERD (over promoting his new book), Mark Bell from Reptile Industries, Allen Repashy plus all the normal Brit Pack (Ray, Nick, Wolfman Steve, Paul H, Darren, Jon Coote plus countless others).

All in all a great show and weekend to catch up with everyone, looking forward to March now Wink

Did not see any new species but didn't really get much time to look.

I'll dig a few pics out but again I didn't really take too many at the show Sad

hehe na viv mantainance is real simple..

trim back invasive plants hehe.

the main factor in a good terrarium is LIGHT and as long as thats sorted your good for plants

next is placment dont put stuff that likes to dry out a bit in soggy substrate.

if theres a misting system and light on timers terrariums are very very simple things to keep.

if theres frogs in well then the only added thing would be feeding every other day Wink

your not far you know where i live if ya need a hand give me a shout Wink

Well said Paul. Wink

So if you have a misting system, you don`t even have to spray Scott! Just feed the frogs. Laughing
