Anyone ever kept zorilla? I've been keen on these for years and would like to know if they are being successfully kept in the UK. If so anyone know who they can be obtained from?
Have checked out piedipers but no luck - cant think of anywhere else to try off the top of my head! _________________ -Hannah- |

Aren't they similar to skunks? |

Not sure about the whereabouts of obtaining one but did have a friend who had, pretty sure does still have, a zorilla. Very cool pet, he certainly held them in very high esteem _________________ Regards James Stroud |

I would actually classify the smell of a zorilla spray as less unpleasant than a skunk... but there you go.
Zorillas look like skunks but are actually more of a polecat size and are not THAT closely related to either animal.
JStroud - Nice to hear that someone has kept them and also enjoyed doing so! _________________ -Hannah- |

Hmmm...I remember seeing a post on a forum (either monkeybird or piedipers) saying that there was only one or two pairs of these in the UK. You'd probably have to import them from Europe or something like that...I dont believe they are DWA though, which is nice. Good luck searching for them, they are adorable, I was looking for some a while back but no luck. Let me know if you get lucky looking for them! |

Cheers Pyrokat Nope theyre not DWA, the main problem with importing from europe is quarantine with them being carnivores. If anyone knows of anyone in the continent that has some, I may well look at importing a few.
Oddly Ive been looking at doing the same for mink at some point - REALLY dont want the hassle of self-quarantine but I may have no choice at this rate _________________ -Hannah- |

what about asking ferret breaders. This site has got info on zorillas and other relatives of ferrets. They might know someone who keeps them.
