Has anyone any experience of culturing the P. Nivea please? Green cockroach; am interested to see what methods have worked, cheers.

Rick, mine are thriving in large sweet jars with a muslin top secured with a rubber band. 3-4" of slightly dampened vermiculite as substrate (the nymphs like to burrow) a couple bits of egg crate and a couple of tiny slabs of cork bark (the adults gather in the cracks) keep at about 80f, spray the muslin top daily as they are humidity lovers but must have ventilation too. I feed a small amount of various fruit and veg.

I`ve had them a month and they are on the increase for certain.

Glad to hear yours are on the increase Peter. Just had to move mine over to a bigger tub/crate.

Mine are now in a fairly big crate bought from the local DIY centre. I've covered the inside walls with Bug Barrier to stop them climbing. The bottom has peat/topsoil as a substrate which gets sprayed daily. Ontop of this I have egg trays, rotting wood and cork bark. Temp is around 80-84 F.
The lockable lid (again to prevent escapes) has the middle section removed and a sheet of muslin duct taped over the hole to increase ventilation.

Good ventilation is essential for the adults to survive.

I have used bug bed for mine as it has rotting leaves etc in it.

Is that the Bug Bed sold by the Metamorphosis Consultancy ? I've tried contacting them about it in the past to find out what sort of volumes they sell it in and P & P, but have not had any replies to date Sad
