Sorry for the picture quality (or rather lack of it) . This is my female due to shed to adult anytime now. I have a male that just moulted to adult a few days ago but I just couldn`t get a decent pic of him
There is some argument over the species name by all accounts as two species, Hierodula membranacea as well as H. grandis were in culture over here but one of the species died out and no-one seems to know for sure which one we are looking at.
Asian Giant mantids are what they are commonly referred to as anyway. Either way they are great fun to keep and seriously efficient predators. _________________ YSBRYDOLI POBL, GWELLA LLEOEDD

Yes mine do have voracious appetites too. Very efficient at catching their prey. Their success rate, (as in catches per attempts) is very high.
Great to keep. _________________ YSBRYDOLI POBL, GWELLA LLEOEDD

Cool, Do you've got more praying mantis ?
I have had several species.
Creoboter elongata
Taumantis sigiana
Sphodromantis lineola
Parasphendale affinis
I'm thinking of buying some Hierodula grandis. _________________ Proud owner of

I have some S. Lineola nymphs also. I hope to go to the AES next week and maybe grab a few more. We shall see. _________________ YSBRYDOLI POBL, GWELLA LLEOEDD
