Just been watching "Animal Airport" and one thing confuses me.

Quote: "These reptiles from Australia are going to Sweden, with a stop over at the animal airport"

Eh?

I've never seen the series, so I'm guessing here, but if Aussie herps were going to Sweden (or anywhere else) it would have to be part of an exchange program between zoos. Thats the only way they are legally allowed out of the country.

Initially I thought the same, but they had dozens of the same species. It looked more like a breeding program. Maybe an inter Zoo program?

That's probably the best guess. Of course the possibility exists that "These animals from australia..." is meant in the context "These Australian native animals" rather than animals which were actually bred in Australia.

That rumour come's up here a fair bit usually just after someone has been detained at the airport with 50+ reptiles in there luggage.
