Here's our rescued Cornsnake. Sold for £10 beer money including his set-up (so disgusting it went straight out for the rubbish). He's now in a nice new viv. We've had him for about 6 weeks - and he shed for the second time tonight. He's a very good feeder too. The only thing is, at some time he's been quite badly burned as you will see from the scars. The worst one is on his neck but there is intermittant scarring all down one side. The viv he came out of had an unguarded household bulb, no thermostat control, nothing. Poor thing didn't even have a hide he could go in Sad

He's got a decent set up now and is coming along very nicely Very Happy

Does anyone know what morph he is? I think he could be a Sunglow but I'm not sure.

This is the set-up he came with - he didn't even have any water - the bowl was bone dry Evil or Very Mad

and this is his new house

He's feeding well and shedding well, so I think he's content and happy in his new home Very Happy

very nice, looks like a blood red amel. The scarring doesn't affect his eating then?

The scar doesn't seem to affect his eating at all but I make sure the mice I give him are not too large - I'd rather feed him 2 or 3 smaller mice than 1 large one.

He did a lot of tail rattling to start with but doesn't now. I let him settle in before handling him for a couple of weeks, just going into his viv to feed him, change his water etc. He's fine being handled now. He doesn't hide so much either and often comes out of his hide just sitting watching us.

A friend of ours is a professional breeder. I'm going to give him a call soon to come over and see him. We don't know if he's male or female yet. I'm hoping he's male as we have a gorgeous Anery female Wink

One word to describe the previous owners - pondlife!!!

thats viv is disgusting, and that light switch just looks dangerous!

It was dangerous - not only to the snake but to humans too. The wiring wasn't properly insulated where the connection is - bare wire Shocked

The good news is his new viv is one of those "Really Useful Boxes" which I find are really good for colubrids and he's on a thermostatically controlled heatpad.

I can't understand anyone buying such a lovely animal then neglecting him like that. When I look at the scarring he's got, especially the large one beside his neck, I get both really sad and very angry at the same time. Poor little snake must have been in terrible pain with that Crying or Very sad

and I doubt they were the type of people to have taken him to the vet. Selling him for £10 beer money sums them up.

it's a sad sight to see that viv to be honest i'm not even sure you can call it a viv more like a death trap cage.

Thanks everyone. That "viv" was appalling Evil or Very Mad

He seems to like his new safe, clean viv with hides, a little log and greenery - and of course, an endless supply of fresh clean water Very Happy

He just shed for the second time a couple of days ago. Second time he's shed in 5 weeks so he's growing - like most Cornsnakes he's got a good appetite. His colours are stunning just now.

My hubby calls him "The Tangerine Dream" Laughing
