|
|
Yesterday we built a vivarium 4x3.5x2 feet to house Bosc monitors. I highly recommend building you own as all the wood and fittings only came to £50, and B&Q cut it all to size for free.
I have a UV strip and a 100 watt spot for basking, however the ambient temperature is only about 70. I understand that it should be closer to 80. How would you suggest doing this, another light, a bigger light or a heat mat – if I used a heat mat where would you suggest putting it.
Any ideas would be appreciated,
Thanks |

I heat a 6x3x2 bosc viv with a 160w powersun on a 14hr timer, thats about 8" away from basking spot, I then use a 150w ceramic on a stat, just incase the viv needs some extra heat at night. The spot is about 140f and the ambient is 85-90. Works great, and i have a nice active, healthy and Strong animal. |

Thanks for your help.
Wow - they are not cheap but the powersuns do have some excellent reviews.
Am I right in thinking that if a use a powersun with a ceramic fitting, I could take out the UV?
Livefoods sell powersuns for £51, do you think this is a good price?.
Can you buy ceramic fittings that screw into the roof of the vivarium as I can't find any on line, they are always on a wire?
Sorry for all the questions |

I'd prefer to buy bulbs from a shop just so theres no risk of breakages in transit, you may pay a little more but thats always what I do _________________ Regards James Stroud |
