LOL funnily enough when we get a female to pair him up with, we're calling her "Mary Jane"
As to their diets being tricky, they are extremely omniverous and as long as you get the basics right the only thing you really have to watch is obesity/malnourishment. At present Stompy is running around the living room poking his nose into everything and will no doubt curl up behind the sofa like he did last night to sleep. He has pretty much ignored the dog (but was around 2 GSD before) and the dog in his inimical fashion has stoically ignored him.
He came from some friends of ours and we should be getting (fingers crossed) an unrelated female kit from them in the near future.
Skunks are induced ovulators like ferrets and unless spayed they must be impregnated every year or they can have quite serious medical problems, even fatal sometimes I believe.
Now is the time of year to be looking for young skunks for sale as this is the time they are born and are usually ready to leave mum around the 6-8 week mark. |
