So frustrating! Do the eggs start to cave in? How long do they go before you cut `em?

Sorry to see that ive just had this happen to me with some Ackie eggs, and when i put them under a microscope i could not see any egg tooth, could this be why they cant get out the egg or could it be it just dropped off in the egg when they died?
