Decided to post the mouster update here as they are no longer 'feeders'
I now have young from 12 mousters crossed back with long hairs, satins & a few other fancy mice strains but out of 100 plus babies not one is a full mouster! Not sure why as when bred with normal white mice the 'no tail' morph is present in a % of each litter. I'm guessing that it may have something to do with the fact that fancy mice seem a lot different to my lab white mice. The fancy mice have tails which are about 15% longer than the lab whites.
Out of all the babies I checked, I found less than 10 with reduced length tails but none without tails.
Perhaps it will take another generation to come through...only time will tell _________________
