I will have a 18"L x 24"D x 6'6"H Vivarium in a few weeks and would like to put a Dwarf monitor(s) in there! The vivarium at the moment is a rainforest setup with a waterfull that starts near the top and collects in a pool at the bottom. It can easily be converted to have 12" substrate in the bottom instead of water! ANy ideas of a monitor that would like this vivarium? I had considered keeping it as a rainforest viv with a pair of young Chinese Crocodile lizards but am thinking of something else for now. |

It's was made to fit a gap in the shop that I used to work in. The shop is now closed and they have a few things to get rid of! So I am getting the viv at a good price!
Master PT:
I have kept Ackies before and agree they are great, Just wondered what other monitors people may Recommend!? |

Tristis or Scalaris althought they may need a little more length in there viv, I've kept Aussie water dragons in a 2ft/2ftheight 6ft viv heigh and they thrived, but they tolerate each other more than most Goannas,I've herd that Scalaris can be very aggressive towards opposite sexes,in a con- fined space. |

I would say that Ackies would need more floor space at least 36inch. |

Could you not put the Viv on its side? If that's possible then it would be easy to keep a group of Ackies.
If not what about some kind of small tree monitor? |

The viv cannot be put on it's side.
The viv has several shelves about 18"x18" going up the viv, so thought that would also be classed as floor space?! |

In that case I wouldn't put Ackies in there. |
