No worries, but size is important. If the newts were smaller the FB's would try to eat them. As it is they get on fine and often snuggle up with each other! Neither seems to be bothered by the other. I have not seen any adverse reactions to toxins either, if IMHO, there was a problem with this then the newts would not snuggle up to the toads, unless the newts are getting of on it!
I have heard, but not experienced it, that mixes can get on fine for ages then all of a sudden one will disappear. I have spoken to a few keepers, some of them quite renowned who keep multi species set ups. But I guess you really must know what you are doing. The idea of a more varied multi-species set up appeals to me another project for the future!
Would take a lot of research and prep, but what fun! Could really achieve a stunning result!
