This week I shall mainly be trying to start off growing my own waxies!

I will shove some healthy large waxies into a jar, with some food mix and egg laying material, cover with tights, (the jar not me) shove in a dark warm place and see what happens!

Any hints n tips please feel free! Very Happy

How long is the turnaround from putting in large waxies to being able to harvest some juicy ones as feeders?

Rick

PS Jan; thanks muchly very for the advice! Very Happy

Go for it mate. Let us know how you get on and I might give it a go. I think the moths would be even more useful than the larvae

My gex and chams love the waxies, but I limit how many they have.

I have put the waxies in their new homes, with their chow, they have buried themselves in it already! That was only a few mins ago!

The moths don't eat so cheap to keep! Mind you the wax worm food mix is cheap as chips!

I will keep you posted on progress Very Happy

Rick

Using the method I gave you Rick is a doddle and IT WORK, this method has been passed on by me to loads of people. The main reason it will fail is if you constantly root about in it looking for babies, just leave them to it aand one night the culture will just explode. For any doubting Thomas es out there just look on another forum and you will see a photo of a guys waxie culture using my " secret" recipe!! I have not been called the queen of waxworms for nothing! Now lets see if I can post this without that annoying spell cow thing popping up- which once I got i cant get rid off,
Love Jan

just GO to your profile and click disable spell check!

Question, how many waxies do you put in each jar to start them off I have put in 60 in each jar?

Rick
