Sky 3 lat night at 12am.

Not much depth to the programme but interesting.

I learnt that a Duck Billed Platypus has claws on the rear of it's feet that can spike you with poison!

A Russell's Viper, from Thailand can strike in any direction and destroys your pituitary gland! Killing off all of your hormone production! Making you sterile and basically leaving you chemically with the body of an eight year old child! Shocked

An assassin caterpillar from the Brazilian rain forest that looks beautiful but has deadly spikes on it! Now moving into towns etc due to deforestation.

Fire ants in Florida, nasty little things yuk!

Mini Jelly fish the size of your thumbnail in Australia that you can not feel when they sting you. The poison affects the heart. Now many Doctors believe that divers that have died of heart attacks, have in fact been stung by the jelly fish!

Plus lots more, quite interesting.

Did anyone else watch it?

Rick

"The spurs on the female fall off after the first year. The spurs on males become venomous during the breeding season. "

I would have done Rick but "Darius" was in concert on the other side. Shocked

Seriously, I did see it about six weeks back. I was dissappointed that the most toxic animal on the planet was not featured, Phyllobates terribillis, a poison arrow frog Crying or Very sad

I have a friend who keeps/breeds Phyllobates terribillis "mint". He has around 12 species of dart frog and breeds them all. He isn`t far from you. I was supposed to visit him this Weekend but I feel too rough.

When I visit him in the near future, you`re welcome to come as well if you fancy it. He would only be too pleased to show you if you have a genuine interest. I learnt more in an hour in his frog room then in 25 years of reading.
