In my vivs I leave small plastic tubs for food treats etc. I leave them in there so that the chams get used to them.
Well one of my female Panthers, regular as clock work poos in the tub daily! Makes daily cleaning much quicker!
One of my Yemens poohs out of the viv door (always open the doors first thing to increase air circulation under supervsion) straight onto my carpet every day, nice eh!
Just thought I would share that with you as I found it interesting.

Linda here you go!
My male yem cham, Alfie, is ruining my carpet!
Alfie lives in his viv that is situated in a large alcove three foot off the ground in my study. I go in there every morning to spend some time and when in there I always open the viv door, he likes this and am sure enjoys an even higher level of airflow. I talk to him for a while he pays attention but as of yet has not said anything back!
After he has basked for a while to warm himself up for the day he moves to the front of the viv across the branches etc. I am sure he is grinning at me when he does this.
He will arrange himself so that his bum is out of the viv as far as he can get it! He then lifts his tail, lifts one rear leg and poohs out of the viv straight onto my carpet! Grins and then does another!
Alfie does this everyday! Bless him.
I know they like to pooh in the same spot and I have heard that in the wild they try to pooh in moving water so as to ensure waste is removed from their territory?
But this is not doing my carpet any good. I think I shall place a small bucket on the floor in the line of fire.
I just wanted to share this with you all as I find it quite amusing, good for him!
I have now drunk five smoothies and am climbing into his viv................
Revenge is sweet!

When I had my yemens, I noticed that they always poo in exactly the same place. Must be a chameleons thing, because they have their own little area they seem to hang around for most of their day. |

I did read that in the wild they try and poo in running water if possible to clear the waste away from their territory.

the age of my cham?? hummm, im not sure i got him before christmas and was told that he was about 4months i think so he is around 7 to 8months old, im sure now that he is fully grown too.
do you give your cham bee pollen is it? bee something lol, you feed it to your wax worms and anything that will eat it, supposed to be really good for them , i dont know where to get it from though.
i tried getting it off the nett, but they have not responded. |

Hi Linda
If you tried to get the bee pol from Martins reptiles you won't get a response at the mo.
I have found Bee Pollen on the web but it is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy pricey! Have tried most health food shops etc but they only seem to sell the capsules that are no good! Try and get a cham to take one of those babies with a glass of water!
Let me know if you find any at a reasonable price, granules or powdered pollen is best if you can get it.
Waxworms can be fed on flour and honey mix, but watch out cause they will turn into mothy things quite quickly! I suppose a good way of getting honey into the cham though, not too many wax worms though, they can be quite addictive (I'm hooked). I think they have quite a high fat content so good for growth and young yems etc, and as an odd treat.
