Austin Stevens was "In search of the flying snakes" last night. Anyone see it? I won`t go on about how much of a pratt he is again.

They were in Cambodia and I pretended he wasn`t there and it wasn`t half so bad. Banded kraits, some type of water monitor, Malayan pit vipers, Siamese crocs (& farmed hybrids) File snakes, Tentacled snakes (Bizarre) Green tree vipers and "Golden flying snakes", no mention of scientific names.

Just before that there was a programme in which Steve Irwin was slated for an hour for feeding a Crocodile with one hand and holding "Lil baby Bob" with the other. Everyone was likening him to wacko Jacko. A bit much I thought!

no need for latin names on tv all the time. and yeah, baby bob was safe, but because of how famous steve is...he shouldnt have done that because people would whine like they did. Kids in oz are always at risk...at least the erwin kids wont try to pick up a snake they dont know what it is or mess with crocs....well, untill later:-) hehe

I agree totally.

There were three different TV channels filming the Irwin "incident" & hence three different camera angles. The first thought nothing was worth using. The second used it as a "fun space" filler at the end of the news.
The third however thought "we can do something with this" as the angle they had made it look worse than it was and that`s how all the fuss started. You are right though Matt, in his spotlight position it was a daft thing to do because of the Jackals. Give `em an inch and they`ll take a mile.

He is clearly a tad "off the wall" but he ain`t Wacko Jacko, not by a long shot.

Yep no need for scientific names all the time on telly but nice to hear it once. I`d like to know the tentacled snake specie`s precise name. Just something I would like to find out about. The "File" snake as well with it`s rough skin. Unusual stuff. What I like.
