Finally after 6 weeks of fixing and testing the current forum database we are almost ready to switch across to a completely new forum operating platform.

It will be a Vbulletin board (not a phpbb board like this one). The new forum has 100's of extra features and is far more robust.

In preperation for this change over we suggest that you SAVE any private messages you want to keep. They 'should' transfer across to the new board, and in test it worked fine BUT just in case it would be a good idea to copy anything you don't want to risk losing.

We are looking at locking this board on Monday morning (8am)so you will NOT be able to post anything, our Tech guys will then copy the current forum database across to a new server and the new Vbulletin board. This will take at least 24 hours.

Once we have transferred across we will have a temporary domain name while we wait for the Captivebred name to switch over. You will still be able to access the site by clicking on the normal www.captivebred.co.uk/forum and there will be a link to the new site.

We may have a few teething problems once we have switched but the pain will be worth it Wink

If once we have switched over you can't access your account, request a new password and if that doesn't work email us and we will sort out any problems.

We should not lose any posts, threads, pictures etc, so the new site will still have all the information on it. The only thing that does seem to disappear is peoples AVATARS, if you want to keep yours save it to your pc and then upload again once we are on the new site.

I will confirm the switch over date asap.

will stuart be able to put my wee dog back on for me, cause i cant do it myself!!! this is all very technical you know, and unfortunately my mind isnt technical at all!!!! Shocked

will our passwords etc be the same?????
and will i still have my lavander sparkly LYNNE? Very Happy

oh and will my roses still be there?
