Where i work (small zoo) there was a falconer this weekend with some birds of prey.
It was really an amazing show. One of the things that i do at that zoo is train a female Harris Hawk but she is by far not trained as good as those birds where Shocked

And it was a good chance to get to know my camera a little bit better. I haven't had the time in the past few months to practice a lot.
So the photo's aren't that great. If you have some tips how what i could have done better please let me know.

Enjoy!

Jordi

Falcon

caught the prey

Meet Guus the African White-back vulture

There was a lot of wind so he couln't fly all the way to his trainer so he walked the distance Rolling Eyes

leaving again.

Owls

White-faced Owl

Eagle called Betsy
Its to bad the bird isn't sharp but still i think a special photo it just has something..

Bald eagle

What an amazing bird is this. So large and so powerful !
and of course even staff members are willing to get a photo with such an animal

So don't be scared it is just me in the picture Rolling Eyes Wink

At the moment at Ecodrome in Zwolle. You wouldn't think it is a zoo but not a lot of people know that it has a license Very Happy
Most people call it a theme park of natural history. But after all it has mammals, caiman's, snakes, more than 400 fishes and at least 40 exotic birds including a few birds of prey.
