I have two Boa's a male and a female, hoping to be a breeding pair, they are both 18months they are of equal size (3ft), they live in 8ft x 4ft x 3ft double glazed viv, I have just purchased a Brazilian Rainbow Boa, Male, Adult, approx 4ft long. Can I put him in with the other boa's? I don't want to prevent the Boa's breeding one day will putting him in there upset them, or can they just not be put all together, anyone know anything about this? thanks

no you should never put 2 different type of snakes 2gether, a rainbow boa had completely different needs than a normal boa Wink

I agree that they should definitely be kept separate but to say they have diifferent needs in my opinion is wrong. They both need to be kept warm, fed and watered. They both come from the same continent therefore temp and humidity is likely to be similar. they would both eat similar food items. Therefore their needs are very similar.

I'm afraid coming from the same continent means nothing regarding temperature or humidity.

South America has everything from tropical rain forest to savanna and then onto pure desert temperature ranging from low 50's up to 100+ so no mate coming from the same continent does not mean they have the same requirements in any way you look at it.

Blimey South American animals that come from the same mountain range can require different temperatures and humidity depending on where on the mountain they come from Laughing

Then you need to state that and not a broad sweeping statement that can cause people keeping things exactly the same way because they read this statement and both animals come from some part of SA Asia or Europe Rolling Eyes

Which is exactly what I was referring to with my reply Peter.

probably true but my initial statement be it remotely vague was also true sonny jim!

But you are right a more precise comment would have been preferable.
