I received my sensor cleaning kit today as I wasn't too pleased about sending camera off to nikon everytime it needed doing at £25 plus a go..This is the kit I got although you dont have to buy the sensor loupe if you dont want it although I would recommend it as it makes checking the sensor for dust a breeze.. http://www.visibledust.com/products3.php?pid=701 I have always been wary of doing this myself but just cleaned mine a few times and all dust spots gone except 2 tiny ones in the corner..pretty impressive!..So when you take a pic of blue sky or something with a white background and see loads of grey blobs or spots you know your sensor is filthy..or to test it set the camera to f22 or higher and take pic of the sky or white card...they will soon show if you have any..There are cheaper options out there and real stubborn dust particles may require "wet cleaning" with pads and fluid..but this is quick easy and safe to do..Highly recommended.

Ive been having a terible time with mine, Ive cleaned it once before and it took a few attempts to get rid of all the dust, but this time it seems to get worse every time I attempt it. Crying or Very sad So I'm actually considering taking mine down to Jessops.
