Hi all,

I have made a 6x2x2 viv out of contiboard for my beardie complete with fake rock wall and huge cave, for a cuple of weeks i let it air off and then fixed it in to the tank, i thought i would need to leave it for maybe 2 more weeks max with the lights and heating on 2 clear the fumes, iv even had the fans runing 2 circulate the air and fumes out of the tank, problem is that was 6 weeks ago! and it still smells of varnish, only faintly but i can still smell it! a m8 came round to my house yesterday 2 have a sniff as i thought a fresh nose might help and he can smell it faintly to, i used ronseal quick drying varnish the low VOC type water based to, any1 else had any problems with this or nething similar?
cheers,
Grant

This has always been a concern for me too when using paints and varnishes. I normally use a small 2000w fan heater in conjunction with a normal fan which helps circulate the hot air around and out of the viv much quicker.
