That is MY Similis and photo, I don't mind that you used it.
I believe the first Monitor in this thread is a Timorensis, next we saw a Scalaris followed by my Similis.
Take note of the tail differences, on Similis the last half or sometimes more or less is solid black...on Timors the last say 1/4 is striped to the tip.

cheers mike and patrik for ur info.... so i can now put a proper I.D on him/her.... so witch one of these then is the spotted tree monitor timorensis, scalaris or the similis or are they all the spotted tree monitor just different locality's? this species of monitor isn't my strong point my main area is the prasinus family _________________ Word ta big bird!! |

Here's what is shown in photos on this thread.
First photos = Timor Monitor = V.Timorensis
Second photo = Spotted Tree Monitor = V.Scalaris.
Third photo = New Guinea Spotted Tree Monitor = V.Similis.
