This is Zeb. He is all kitted up for ploughing. He is a Portuguese working donkey (now retired) which are much bigger than the british beach donkeys. For reference my wife (on the left) is 5 ft 6 inches. A friend is on the right.

Brian is very different to the others in character. Very cute and funny (The donkey not the forum member). Gets stressed very easily and makes funny noises when he does. But has a good life here. Lots of space, and good food. Lots of "fussing" too. Thanks for the positive comments.

All of the donks, are definately donks. These southern european working types are more horsey in appearance though. The British ones have shorter heads.

Mark, just been looking at the photos on your site of the breeding facility. How deep do the side panels go down into the soil, and do you have anything under the floor of each pen to stop the occupants tunneling out ?

It varies from enclosure to enclosure depending on what it is for. But around 40cm mostly. The soil is sandy towards the surface but quickly is full of a soft granite which is a bugger for me and thankfully also the lizards to dig through. Some of the enclosures also have mesh on the bottom too. Nothing has dug out. We are also planning to add a extra metal wall to enclose all the cages, just to make sure.

The picture on the website is really poor. I will take some more pics in the next couple of days and post on this forum.

I will post some sand lizard pics in ther meantime !
