hi in recent threads you have mentioned
Irish peat moss
orchard bark
as a substrate for planting out natural viv for panthers, but so far no one carries Irish peat moss or orchard bark, most garden centers don't do planting substrate with peat anymore can you suggest a substitute or give any more guide lines on what i can use which is safe and will still do the job

I really wouldn't suggest a substrate for a panther viv....as long as it's heavily planted enough it will look great...live plants will make it look great, even in pots! Very Happy

It's really just a general planting mix for humid vivariums nothing specific in mind animal wise but good for plants.

Most decent garden centers should carry irish peat moss in something crazy like 50L cubes, as for orchid bark a more expensive optin would be the "rain forest" substrates from T-rex or such firms.

for a peat moss sub I would maybe use a good chemical free potting compost.

My local B&Q warehouse does peat moss in 100l bags. I just put 2 in my new cresties viv.

As for bark, I know my local rep shop does it in massive sacks.

Have you tried all your local shops and possibly some further?
