Here are some pics of my new Reptile Shed. Basically, I had some space in the garage to fill and I wanted to be able to expand, as well as give my wife her living room back.
The lizards are to stay in the house, however the snakes, of which all except for one are Kings or Milks) will be housed in the Rep shed.
The shed itself is only a 6'x6', but because my interest is not Burms or Retics, but more fortunately the smaller snakes, I house a nice collection.
Life before the shed:
The shed arrives:
Insulating & Boarding the shed (woodwork was never my strongest subject at school:
A quick coat of paint (and I mean quick):
Down with the floor:
Let there be light!:
The animals went in two by two:
Possible racking system, but not for me, I prefer vivs and have two stacks awaiting screwing together.
The shelf unit used to be a spectacle display case for a supermarket. Each shelf has a flourescent strip behind a diffuser and the lights all wire in at the top. It just needs mains wiring to get the lights working.
It seems ripe for conversion, but I am not sure I will use it, I prefer vivariums.
As mentioned I have two stacks providing four vivs each to go in, and I will still be able to keep the three vivs that are there already.
Last night was the first night with animals in and temps remained constant throughout the night with no problems. So the insulation is working well.
See, size isn't everything. _________________ 31August2008-Kent Reptile Show (Amphibians & Inverts welcome) for more information & Booking e:mail: mrac@sky.com |

Funny you should say that. I got busted last night when the missus walked in and I was sitting there reading, it's far more comfy than the loo. _________________ 31August2008-Kent Reptile Show (Amphibians & Inverts welcome) for more information & Booking e:mail: mrac@sky.com |
