a total mix..
Curly wingged house flies (decent size and they scamper around everywhere)
Locusts gut loaded on various green veg
Crickets gut loaded on pollen
Wax moths larvae and wax moths fed honey and pollen mix.
Crickets I put in herb pots several days in advance with some food and a dusting, then just bung the pot in and take the lid off.
Locusts just throw them in, same with flies and the moths.
the wax moth larvae I dust heavily and feed to the chams by hand most evenings so I can make sure they get a good hit of calcium every other night. They just come over and snatch these out of my hand.. but you can put these in the pot as well and they will come take them within seconds.
Dont mix live food in the same pots as they will bite one another, and a bitten wax moth leaves a right mess. |
