Hiya,

I recently was given a wonky baby leo for nothing, as there had been incubation problems and his back leg buckles under and he has a bit of an underbite. The breeder didn't have the time to make sure he was getting everything so asked if I could take him. I have been feeding him by hand every night with some dusted size 2 crickets, and he is in a little faunarium on his own. I am not sure if I am doing the correct things.. Was hoping someone could see what they think of him size wize etc... I think he is an albino too...but not sure! His tail is terribly thin, but he has a great appetite, and I can feed him loads of crickets in one sitting, so am hoping he will improve. His other legs although they work fine, seem to buckle a little, or did do when i got him....almost like he was walking on his wrists... seems to have stopped looking so bad now and he potters about just fine.

Here are a couple of pics of him...next to some 6 week old babies for comparison, one of his gammy leg and one of his face to show his jaw. If anyone has hints/tips/suggestions or any idea of what is wrong with him then please do let me know, I would be grateful!

I am not sure what is wrong with him at all.....hence why I posted to ask!! He could have mbd..it seems to fit a lot of the things, but she has been like this since she was hatched...so I wasn't sure.

Anna

try and get him checked over by a vet anna. at least he can put your mind at rest about mbd. as he has been like this since he hatched, he wont know any other way, so i would think he should be fine, but thats not taking into account mbd. he looks happy enough, but then i always think geckos are happy looking anyway. what a wee sweety.

I have seen this before in Geckos that have had fluctuating temperatures in the incubator.
But i agree get a vet to check it out, you would be surprised how resilient they are many years back i had one who got into a fight whilst mating and had a bad bite on its leg, we eventually had the leg amputated but it could still chase crix round.
