hey folks.
a while back i got a male amelanistic brown house snake (lamprophis capensis) here as a stud snake from a gent called Niki Chinn (goes by the alias: slangman) and boy is that snake a good wee stud snake!
he has mated both my adult females twice and I'm expecting eggs in march time (if he has done his business well )
Amel x Kizzie:
Amel x Nyoka:
(i don't quite think he had managed in that photo)
the amelanism is similar to albinism except that the snake does not have red pupils, it has black pupils.
unless one of my girls is het for amelanistic and i don't know, all babies will be 100% het amelanistic.
I'd like to link you to Niki's sites:
www.freewebs.com/ncsnakes
&
www.lamprophis.probards62.com
definitely worth checking out folks!
cheers

also, whilst I'm here i am going to post a few photos of my newest wee lass, a zululand, going on pattern id say she was a natal specimen, but that's speculation, not scientific fact.
i am definitely enjoying working with these snakes and hope to be expanding my collection soon!.
so here's Tiny (it was a nickname that stuck lol)

i do too lynne, i figured she would be a terror all snappy like a baby corn, but shes as sweet and soft as the adults I'm very pleased with her.
she was also a non feeder but began to eat just before i got her & thankfully hasn't refused a single mouse since she got here I'm really happy with her & with patterns like that shes going to be a real beauty as an adult cant wait till she starts growing lol
the amel is in with kizzie at the moment so fingers crossed, afterall, he is only small still lol.
i need to get some recent photos of the 2 of them, infact I'll go take a few pics of nyoka but I'm leaving kizzie in "the love nest" at the moment.
*runs away and takes some photos*
here ya go:
nyoka
they are rather iridescent as you can see...
quite annoying as it makes it difficult to see her pattern _________________ Reptiles by Erik Paterson
