Don't bother with a false bottom. Go for hydroleca substrate....keeps up high humidity! As for background, peat panels are good adhesived on to the glass....with some climbing figs and bromeliads, pothos etc.

Paul will no doubt give you some ideas on this thread too Wink

I personally would go with live plants as a background setting a good dartfrog website is www.dartfrog.co.uk. it has loads of different plants on there for sale and plant lighting.

Here's the basics mate:

2 inches of LECA ( a lot easier than a false bottom unless you can find lighting eggcrate)

place a sheet of weed block fabric on this, then add a couple inches of peat: eco earth and fine orchid bark in a 1:1:1 ratio.

Unless you want to drill the base of the tank and create a sump system for the waterfall it will reduce the vertical space a little to much for the frogs and plants to be happy.

Lighting:

a nice T5 setup would do your plants wonderfully you can probably pick up a arcadia over tank laminar off ebay for under £40.

planting for a viv like that I would recmomend the following easy to grow plants:

Ground cover:

Pothos (harder to kill than grow lol)
Wandering jew
strawberry begonia
ludisa discolor (jewel orchid)
peperomia spp
java moss
small guzmania cultivars

background:

creeping fig (ficus pumilia)
dishchidia (many varieties available that do well in a vivarium)
java moss
neoregelia bromeliads

I would remove the reindeer moss as this will just tend to get mucky in a high humidity dart frog vivarium.

Seed the vivarium with springtails and tropical woodlice as well they help to move the ecosystem along and provide a nice snack for the frogs.
